Algund – where hiking becomes a true pleasure!

In Algund, everyone is sure to find their perfect path. Choose from hundreds of footpaths leading through fruit orchards and vineyards, meadows and woodland, or take the mountain trails and explore the heights in the Texel Nature Park. Algund is a perfect destination for a hiking holiday!

To each their own altitude

With altitudes ranging from 300 to 3,000 metres, the many paths and trails in and around Algund guarantee a varied nature experience for everyone. Make your way from the valley to the summit, in any season!

Uplifting views

No need for exhausting treks: you can reach the hiking paradise in the mountains above Algund simply using the available lift facilities: the Vellau-Leiter Alm basket lift, the Algund – Vellau chairlift and the Aschbach cable car. The ascent is an experience in its own right!

Cycling in Algund

Discover the beauty of South Tyrol by bike. Ride an e-bike through the apple orchards to Merano, explore the historic Via Claudia Augusta on a road bike, or head into the mountains on a mountain bike. The perfect rental bike is available directly at Art Residence Josefshof or from one of the bike rental shops nearby.

Prices are per night and apartment, based on a minimum stay of 7 nights and an occupancy of 2 or 4 persons.
An additional charge applies for each extra person.
Children receive a discount depending on their age.

The local tourist tax is currently €2.40 per person per day (from the age of 14) and is payable on site. Please note that the amount may change due to the annual adjustment.

We accept payment by advance bank transfer, credit/debit card or in cash (up to 4,999 euros).

A deposit is required to confirm the booking.

Even though the Italian Consumer Protection law does not provide for the right of withdrawal on hotel bookings, we do allow cancellation according to the terms detailed below.

  • Cancellation is subject to a 25 euro fee (50 euros for guests from outside the EU), which is deducted from the deposit
  • For cancellations made 29 to 16 days before arrival, we withhold the deposit.
  • Between 15 and 8 days before arrival, we charge 70% of the total booking price.
  • For cancellations made 7 days before arrival or later, and in the event of no-show or late arrival/early departure, we charge the booking in full.

Please refer to articles 45-67 of the Italian Consumer Protection law (Leg. Decree 206/2005).

We recommend taking out travel cancellation insurance to cover for any cancellation fees. Click here to insure your holiday.

Check-in is open from 3 pm, or earlier on request. On the day of departure, check-out is by 10 am.

Your dog is welcome upon request. We charge €15 per night, food not included. Cats are not allowed.

Free parking is available directly at the Art Residence Josefshof, both in the outdoor area and in the underground garage. In the garage, you will also find bicycle racks and the possibility to conveniently charge your e-bike.

If you are travelling with a trailer, you may park it free of charge at our Residence Steinach, located about 700 metres away.
